The longer we watch TV, the more we increase our risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and death.
A large study using thousands of people has concluded that for EVERY 2 HOURS SPENT IN FRONT OF TV, THE RISK OF DISEASE (DIABETES, HEART DISEASE AND PREMATURE DETAH) INCREASED BY UP TO 20%!!
Interestingly, Europeans spend 40% of their free time watching TV, Australians 50% (3-4 hours/day!!) whilst the U.S tops the lot at average 5 hours/day!
We should blame TV alone for the diseases mentioned, but people who spend hours watching TV are generally doing LESS physical activity and are more likely to be overweight

Hanan, what do you think about exercising in front of the TV? One could do an abs workout, some push ups, squats or even dumbell training.
Yes tamer I believe this is an exception to the rule generally speaking people watch tv whilst eating or doing very little else
So doing push ups or abs or any resistance training whilst watching tv would most probably offset the risks
Good luck!
